Frequently asked questions

You will have open access to our beautiful outdoor Onsen (maintained at a comfortable 38 degrees), the 15m indoor pool (for laps or free swim), gym, then in both Men’s & Ladies changerooms is a sauna and plunge pool.
No bookings are required at all, we are open from 10am until 8pm and you can just turn up and pay on arrival if you like. Our busier times are usually from 4pm to 7pm, so if you would prefer it quieter then any time in the morning or early afternoon would be best. We would suggest arriving no later than 5:45pm so you can make the most of your 2hr session.
Yes children are permitted to use the facility under parental or guardian supervision. We just ask that the noise levels are kept to a minimum as we are a place of relaxation and are booked out daily with a number of clients receiving massages and treatments.
The Onsen is a shared facility so swimwear is required. If you didn’t pack any swimmers for your visit then we have a selection of Speedo brand options available for purchase at the reception.
We recommend that you bring your own towel with you, however we do have towels for hire for $5 each from reception.
Please arrive at least 5 minutes prior to your booking and check in at reception, they will then direct you to the Retreat Lounge where the therapist will greet you to commence your treatment.
We recommend that you use the complimentary bathing pass prior to your treatment. However if you would prefer to use afterwards then we just ask if you could please have a shower to remove any massage or treatment oils from your skin, this will greatly help us maintain the optimal pool and spa chemistry for everyone to enjoy.
There is an hourly bus which leaves Mt Hotham from 7:30am every day with the last one running well after we close. To get to the Dinner Plain Onsen simply hop off the bus at the Visitor Information Centre then walk across the roundabout to our location (across the road from DP Hotel). Please ensure that you leave plenty of time for the journey as sometimes the buses can be delayed. It may be worth considering an earlier bus as we are unable to extend treatment times when guests arrive late so as not to affect proceeding guests' treatments.
Yes we are happy to provide a discounted rate for a season pass based on the time remaining in the season (ends Sept 30th)
Yes you are most welcome to share the 10 visit pass with others, when making the booking we will register the passes to the purchaser's name, then when your friends or family come in they just need to notify our staff at reception which name the pass is under and we will check you in.
